SDRSharp Scanner Plugin Tutorial and Demo

Over on YouTube, userĀ radiosification has posted a video showing how to go about setting up the SDR# Scanner plugin. This is a great way to get your RTL-SDR to function as a radio scanner so you don’t have to manually tune the bands. It assumes you already have your RTL-SDR installed and configured to work with SDR# but walks you through the rest of the process of installing and using the plugin. The download page for the plugin is in Russian but the video shows how to translate the page and find the download link. If you’ve used this plugin before, leave a comment and let us know any tips or troubles you may of had.

Radiosification has also posted another video showing the SDRSharp scanner plugin being used to scan the airband which is located between 108mhz to 137mhz.

NT1K – RTLSDR W- RTL2832U and E4000 Tuner

NT1K - RTLSDR W- RTL2832U and E4000 TunerTesting out the EzCap EzTV668 that has the RTL2832 and the E4000 Tuner Chip. I think it’s much better that the FC0013 Tuner. However don’t take my word for it. For $20 you can’t complain either way at 00:40 you will hear a conversation on a local repeater (W1TOM 146.940), One of the stations is close by my QTH and with the 2Mhz sampling, you can see both the output of the repeater and the -600khz input from the operator. Decoding P25 with SDR#, DSD, and RTLSDR

Decoding P25 with SDR#, DSD, and RTLSDRThis is decoding P25 with DSD and SDR#. It isn’t the greatest, but I guess it’s a work in progress. You need a very strong signal, and just the correct audio levels and settings. Most of the video is P25 bits and pieces. My audio is not clipping, it’s simply a problem I cannot figure out with stereo mix. Source

Decoding P25 with SDR#, DSD, and RTLSDR #2

Decoding P25 with SDR#, DSD, and RTLSDR #2This is decoding P25 with DSD and SDR#.You need a very strong signal, and just the correct audio levels and settings. This is video number TWO where I got about a 98% decode. I had about 71% inlevel and it started working great. Please don’t mind the high pitched crackle in the audio, it is a problem with my sound card and NOT an artifact in the decode itself. When decoded there is nice clean audio (well, as clean as you can get with the horrible codec motorola uses!). sdrsharp.com Source
